Garland Texas Motorcycle Crash Due to Intoxication

Police who responded to a recent call filed formal charges against a driver who was involved in the Texas accident. The fatal motorcycle crash occurred on a recent Monday night on a local roadway in Garland. The 23-year-old driver alleged to have caused the accident was taken into police custody at the scene of the collision.

A 22-year-old motorcyclist was said to have been traveling southbound at approximately 11:30 p.m. He was reportedly struck head-on by another vehicle that was coming at him from the wrong direction on the road. Responding rescue workers transported the motorcycle driver to a nearby hospital for emergency care. Sadly, the young man later succumbed to his injuries.

The apparent wrong-way driver was taken into police custody and is reportedly being held on a $50,000 bond. He will now face formal charges of intoxication manslaughter. No details were provided as to his physical condition in the aftermath of the accident.

Motorcycle Victims have Legal Rights and can Claim Financial Compensation

In Texas, when a person dies in a fatal motorcycle crash or similar vehicular collision due to the apparent negligence or wrongful actions of another driver, his or her immediate family members have the right to file a wrongful death claim in a civil court. An experienced legal professional can offer advice with regard to the process of filing a claim. Doing so may lead to possible monetary compensation that might help alleviate some of the financial burdens incurred in the aftermath of an accident, such as funeral expenses, loss of wages and other monetary losses.
