Fatal 18-Wheeler Accident takes Solider's Life

There is a certain amount of inherent risk involved when traveling on busy Texas roadways. Car accidents occur every day. In a worst case scenario, a fatal car accident takes place that is caused by driver negligence and leaves a trail of devastation and grief in its wake. The surviving family members of an accident victim often seek recovery for their losses by filing legal claims against those deemed responsible for the death.

A recent tragedy occurred that involved an active duty serviceman from Fort Hood. The 25-year-old was apparently riding in the front passenger seat of a vehicle when it struck a parked tractor-trailer from behind. The young man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The terrible crash occurred sometime after 2 a.m. on a recent Sunday. Two others were also injured in the collision. Their injuries, however, were non-life threatening, and they were able to be treated at a local hospital. The deceased victim had been serving on active duty since 2014 and was stationed as a member of a military police unit.

Wrongful Death Suits are Possible in Semi-Truck Accidents

A family facing the loss of a loved one killed in a fatal car accident in Texas may want to seek justice on behalf of the deceased. This is possible through the legal system by filing a wrongful death claim against the person believed to have caused the accident. While no amount of compensation can relieve a family’s grief, it can help offset funeral expenses and provide monetary recovery for other damages sustained through the accident, such as loss of consortium, emotional pain and suffering and/or medical costs for emergency care rendered before death.
