Alvin, Texas Teen Dies in Hit and Run

When parents lose a child in a car accident, their entire lives change dramatically. They may deny the fact in hopes that it is not true, but most soon realize that it is. They may then begin to question how the accident could have happened, and if it was a hit and run accident, they may also wonder how a driver could have left the scene.

A Texas family may be asking themselves similar questions after a 15-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle. Specific details as to how the accident occurred were not available, but speculation indicated that the young girl could have been walking on the side of a roadway when she was hit. The driver of the vehicle did not remain on the scene, and the girl succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital.

Authorities have received some information about a possible suspect, and they are confident that the suspect was the one involved in the fatal incident. Once the suspect is apprehended, he could face serious charges relating to the accident. The investigation is continuing while the officers go about picking up the suspect.

A Texas Hit-and-Run Lawyer can Help Win Financial Compensation

The parents and other family members of the victim are presumably waiting for the suspect to be brought to justice. While they wait for authorities to take the driver into custody, they may wish to explore their legal options dealing with Texas wrongful death claims. If the family chooses to file a claim against the driver deemed at fault, they could potentially be entitled to monetary compensation for permissible damages that have resulted from the hit and run accident.
