Fleeing Shoplifter Causes Fatal Crash in Pasadena

Many people may not see the connection between certain events, but some incidents can have chain reactions. Those reactions could result in serious consequences and could even contribute to a fatal car accident. A shoplifting accusation and the death of a mother in a car accident may not seem related, but upon closer examination, one may not have happened without the other.

An accident occurred in Texas after a woman fleeing the scene of a crime ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. The woman reportedly shoplifted toys from an area Walmart and allegedly assaulted security personnel when she was confronted. She then left the scene in a vehicle, which was involved in the accident. The vehicle she was driving crashed into the driver’s side of another vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on site. Her daughter was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken from the scene to receive medical treatment. The suspected shoplifter was also transported from the scene for minor injuries. It is unclear at this time what charges could be filed as a result of the incident.

A Texas Fatal Car Accident Lawyer can Help Win Financial Compensation

The daughter and other remaining family members are likely to face difficult times after losing their mother and loved one in the fatal car accident. Losing a parent can significantly impact children in a negative way and cause other resulting damages. As a result, a wrongful death claim could potentially be a viable option for the family to pursue in order to possibly gain compensation for their loss and other damages. Information on Texas state laws dealing with fatal car accidents could help them determine the best course of action.
