Man Driving Pickup Hits 3 Austin, TX Pedestrians

A hit and run accident is a very serious matter that can quickly become complicated if authorities are unable to apprehend a suspect soon. If the event involves pedestrians, the accident could also result in serious injuries or even fatalities. If an individual is involved in a pedestrian accident and the driver leaves the scene, the injured party may wish to look into legal options.

Three individuals in Texas could soon be assessing their legal situation after they were struck by a vehicle while on a sidewalk. Reports state that the driver of a pickup truck was making a turn at an intersection when he went onto the sidewalk and hit the three pedestrians. He continued driving but was eventually stopped by authorities.

The three victims were taken to an area hospital, and while the extent of their injuries is unknown, it was reported that they are in stable condition. At this time, authorities believe the driver of the truck to have been under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place. He is currently facing charges of DWI and failure to stop and render aid.

A Texas Personal Injury Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation from Pedestrian Accidents

The victims of the pedestrian accident likely feel lucky to be alive. However, they will also likely face a long road of recovery as being hit by a vehicle can result in severe injuries. As a result, they may wish to learn more about personal injury claims in Texas that could allow them to pursue compensation against the driver deemed at fault that could assist in payment of medical bills and other damages.
