Houston Woman Struck by Metro Bus Downtown

In many areas, seeing public transportation is a common occurrence. Many individuals utilize this form of travel every day. Unfortunately, these vehicles are not exempt from potentially being involved in a bus accident. Because these vehicles are so large, there is a chance that serious injuries can take place from such an incident.

An accident involving a pedestrian and bus recently took place in Texas. Witnesses state that a woman was hit by a bus that had just turned onto the street that she was apparently attempting to cross. They also stated that she was trapped momentarily under the front tires of the bus. One witness expressed his dismay at hearing the woman’s screams after she was hit.

Emergency services arrived on the scene, and the victim was transported to an area hospital. It was noted that at this time the bus driver involved has not been charged. Authorities are still investigating the incident, however. Witnesses also stated that it appeared as if the bus may have been speeding when the accident took place.

A Texas Pedestrian Injury Lawyer can Help Win Financial Compensation

When a bus accident occurs that also involves a pedestrian, it is important for authorities to gather as much information about the situation as possible. The injured woman may also wish to gather information of her own as far as potentially filing a claim against the parties deemed responsible for the accident. A personal injury claim in Texas could allow her to pursue monetary reparations for medical bills and other damages that may have resulted from the event.
