Texas Semi-Truck Kills One in Pecos

When a driver is having car issues, they may turn on their flashing hazard lights to alert other drivers that there is an issue. These lights may help other motorists to adapt to the situation by giving them a signal that they may need to slow down, go around or take other action. If a truck driver does not pay attention to these signals, he or she may not adjust the truck’s speed or fail to make other accommodations and possibly be involved in a truck accident.

A recent accident in Texas involving a semi-truck and another vehicle resulted in one fatality. It was reported that the vehicle had its hazard lights on due to smoke being emitted from the vehicle. However, the truck driver apparently did not take the proper precautions when approaching the vehicle from behind, and as a result, a collision occurred.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the first vehicle was killed. His passenger as well as the truck driver also suffered injuries and were transported to an area hospital. It was reported that the truck driver’s failure to control speed may have contributed to the accident, but no charges or citations were mentioned in the report. Authorities should continue to investigate and decide whether charges could be appropriate.

A Texas 18-Wheeler Accident Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation

Being involved in a truck accident may be a fear of many Texas drivers, and with this accident as an example, that fear is not unjustified. Such accidents can quickly claim the lives of individuals involved and leave close relatives scrambling as they work to handle the results of the event. The stress of losing a loved one in such a manner can be overwhelming, but information on filing a wrongful death claim could help parties see their options more clearly and if seeking restitution may be right for them.
