Whitesboro TX Principal Killed in Crash

Those who operate motor vehicles are responsible for following traffic laws and for driving as safely as possible so as not to place themselves or others on the road at risk. Attempting to pass another vehicle is a maneuver that requires the utmost focus and precaution. Unfortunately, a fatal car accident occurred recently in Texas when one vehicle is alleged to have suddenly moved into a lane occupied by an oncoming SUV. One life was lost and another is reported to be in critical condition.

The Whitesboro community is mourning the loss of its middle school principal who was killed in the tragedy on Tuesday. According to a responding trooper, a 60-year-old male was driving south on Highway 377. During his apparent attempt to move past another vehicle, he crashed head on into the school principal’s northbound automobile. She died at the scene of the collision.

The driver who is believed to have caused the crash was airlifted to a medical center where he underwent emergency surgery. It has been reported that he remains in intensive care. The school has provided grief counselors for the student body and a spokesman said that they have done their best to counsel and offer comfort to those who have been shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of their principal and friend. The school superintendent said that hearing the news of the accident was like losing a member of his own family.

The death of a family member in a fatal car accident is certainly a devastating experience. Many times, loved ones who survive the deceased do not know where to turn or what to do next. Texas law allows immediate family members who have sustained personal losses due to the unexpected death of a loved one in a vehicular accident to file a claim in a civil court when that death is suspected to have been caused by the negligent or reckless actions of another driver. A successful claim has the potential to lead to monetary compensation that could help offset the unexpected financial burdens the family has sustained because of the accident.
