Alcohol Involved in Fatal Houston Car Accident

A man who witnessed a collision in Texas is said to have become involved in the tragic scene when he attempted to capture a suspect who was allegedly trying to flee. Two lives were lost in the fatal car accident that occurred on Highway 59 at approximately 7 p.m. on a recent Sunday. Some have called the man who chased the suspect a “Good Samaritan.”

The deadly crash took the lives of a young married couple, both 21. The man whose vehicle is said to have struck theirs was apparently seen attempting to run away from the scene of the accident. A nearby witness reportedly chased the suspect, pinning him to the ground until authorities arrived on site.

Sadly, the man and wife had their two young daughters, one five weeks old, the other, age two, in the vehicle with them at the time. Both were transported to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure to check for injuries, but were later released with no serious injuries reported. Friends and family members of the victims expressed their grief and sorrow in the fact that the children have been orphaned as a result of the crash.

DUI/Drunk Driving Victims can Seek Compensation through a Car Accident Lawyer

Charges of accident involving death and intoxicated manslaughter were filed against the man believed to be at fault in the incident. His bond was listed at $600,000. In similar Texas cases, where young children have been left without parents due to another driver’s negligent or wrongful actions in a fatal car accident, a legal guardian may file a wrongful death claim on behalf of the children. Loss of future financial support, as well as emotional pain and suffering are among the damages that might typically be listed in the legal claim. In a successfully litigated case, court-awarded compensation would be able to be used to help provide for the children in the aftermath of the untimely deaths of their parents.
