Fiery SUV Crash Kills Two Near Georgetown

A tragic accident occurred on a Texas roadway on a recent Thursday morning. Questions remain as to the circumstances that led to the tragedy. An investigation is ongoing in the case. Sadly, the car wreck resulted in two fatalities.

A single vehicle was involved in the recent automobile accident that left the driver severely injured and two of his passengers dead. A 32-year-old man was behind the wheel of a sports utility vehicle when, for reasons not known, the vehicle careened off-road, went airborne and crashed under a nearby bridge. The vehicle reportedly ignited in flames upon impact.

Responders to the scene discovered the driver of the SUV lying outside the vehicle. Those rendering aid were able to get him away from the fire, though he suffered severe injuries. He was transported to an area medical center and was listed in critical condition. A 19-year-old girl traveling in the same vehicle died at the scene of the accident. One other occupant, whose identity has not yet been released, also died.

Family Members can File a Claim for Compensation

In cases where a Texas car wreck results in the untimely death of a victim, his or her immediate family members may file a legal claim in a civil court in order to seek compensation for monetary damages sustained. If the motorist deemed negligent in the incident has also succumbed to injury, a claim can still be filed against his or her estate. Though court-awarded compensation is by no means a replacement for the loss of human life, it might comfort those involved to know that any monies awarded could be used to help offset financial losses incurred due to an accident.
