Texas Teen Killed in Possible Drunk Driving Incident

Though multi-car accidents seem to be considered more serious than single vehicle crashes, it is important to remember that any accident could prove fatal. Many factors apart from other vehicles can play roles in collisions and the results. If drivers are impaired, they could easily make an error that could result in a fatal car accident occurring.

A single-car accident claimed the life of a young Texas man after the vehicle he was riding in hit a tree. According to authorities, the vehicle struck a curb before colliding with the tree in the yard of someone’s home. At this time both speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the accident. Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing a seat belt.

The driver was reportedly ejected from the vehicle after hitting the tree. When authorities arrived on the scene, he was transported to an area hospital for treatment and was considered to be in critical condition; the passenger was pronounced dead. The incident is still under investigation, but there is a chance that the driver could face serious charges for the fatality that resulted from the accident.

Consequently, the family of the victim is undoubtedly grief stricken by the turn of events and could face emotional as well as financial struggles as a result. Should the driver of the vehicle be found guilty of DUI or other allegations concerning the fatal car accident, the chances of success could increase if the family chooses to file a wrongful death claim for damages Texas law permits.

Texas Man Suffered Hit-and-Run Injuries

When a person is involved in an accident, any number of thoughts could be running through their minds. They may be wondering what happened, if anyone is hurt or how they are going to handle their insurance and damages. If a person is involved in a hit and run accident, they may be wondering how a person could leave the scene of an accident without offering help. The driver may have been worried about the consequences, but leaving the scene of an accident with injuries comes with even heavier penalties than if a person had remained on the scene.

A Texas woman could be facing such serious consequences after she struck a man with a vehicle then left the scene. According to reports, the victim and his wife were having an argument over the custody of their child, who the wife was allegedly attempting to abduct. The wife reportedly took the child and got in a vehicle that was being driven by another woman.

The man tried to stop them from leaving by approaching the front of the vehicle, but the driver purportedly hit him in the leg and left the scene. Witnesses corroborated the man’s account, though the driver denied attempting to run him over. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, though it was not reported how authorities caught up with the driver.

The reports indicate that the man was already facing a difficult situation dealing with the possible abduction of his child, and the situation seems to have escalated quickly. Though the extent of the man’s injuries that he sustained due to the hit and run accident was not disclosed, he may wish to pursue a personal injury claim against the driver deemed at fault. Should his injury prove severe, he may be at risk for lost wages due to missing work for recovery or accumulated medical bills associated with the treatment of his injuries. Should a Texas resident find him- or herself in a similar situation, they could be entitled to compensation for financial expenses and other damages permitted under state law.

Austin Woman Killed in South Texas Car Crash

Being able to avoid an accident is one skill that the majority of drivers wish to have. Unfortunately, a car accident can occur with little or no forewarning, and drivers may not have seen a collision coming until they have been involved in it. Other drivers can make a simple mistake, such as crossing a center line, which can result in catastrophic injuries or even death.

Such a situation occurred in Texas, resulting in the death of two people. According to reports, a female driver with three other passengers in her vehicle was traveling south when the driver of a pick-up truck failed to maintain his lane and crossed the center line. The circumstances resulted in a head-on collision, causing the female driver’s vehicle to spin and the pick-up truck to flip and land in a ditch.

The woman driving the first vehicle and one of her teenage passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The other two passengers of her vehicle were also injured and taken to an area children’s hospital for treatment. The driver of the pick-up truck as well as his four passengers also suffered injuries in the crash and were transported to hospitals for treatment. It is unclear at this time whether the driver of the pick-up will be facing any charges. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating further into the accident.

Houston Bus Accident Sends 3 to Hospital

Many Texas residents take advantage of public transportation in order to save money on fuel expenses and for other various reasons. Such transportation can be considered a safer mode as many of the drivers have excellent records, and the vehicles are larger than many others on the roadways. Unfortunately, a bus accident can still occur, and though buses are not as confined and possibly offer more protection than smaller vehicles, passengers aboard can still become injured if an accident happens.

An accident with injuries involving a bus and another vehicle occurred when the smaller vehicle attempted to merge between the bus and a second vehicle. All vehicles were traveling west when the bus came to a stop. The vehicle behind that bus also came to a stop, but the third vehicle attempted to maneuver between the bus and second vehicle. As a result, the third vehicle struck the side of the bus, causing damage.

It was reported that three passengers on the bus were injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment. The exact extent of their injuries and conditions was not reported. It is unclear at this time whether there are any charges pending for the driver deemed at fault for the accident, and police should continue to investigate.

Though larger vehicles can be considered by some safer than smaller vehicles, they also have the potential for causing more damage if the accident is severe. Luckily for the majority of the people involved in this bus accident, the incident was relatively minor when other possibilities are considered. However, those injured in the accident could still be facing struggles dealing with medical bills and recovery time associated with their injuries. They may wish to pursue personal injury claims against the driver deemed at fault in order to gain compensation for their monetary burdens resulting from the accident and other damages permitted under Texas law.

18-Wheeler Crash on I-35 Leaves 1 Dead

Traveling on high traffic roadways can pose serious risks for drivers as they have many other vehicles to pay attention to. Drivers may be traveling at high speeds, not allowing proper following distance or committing any number of possible accident causes. Because traffic flow is much heavier, a large car or truck accident involving multiple vehicles has a higher chance of occurring. When such an accident involves a semi-truck, the situation can be terrifying.

A pile-up accident occurred on a Texas highway when a semi-truck reportedly failed to reduce speed when traffic ahead slowed due to road construction. As a result, the truck collided with the back of a vehicle, causing a chain reaction involving four additional vehicles. It was reported that some people were trapped in their vehicles as a result of the accident and access roads were inaccessible due to the construction.

One person was killed in the accident and at least four others were severely injured. They were transported to two area hospitals for treatment. It is unclear at this time why the driver of the truck did not slow to avoid the accident, and police should continue to investigate. It was also not reported whether any charges will be filed against the driver deemed at fault.

The man purportedly sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. It was not reported whether the driver of the other vehicle sustained any injuries related to the accident.

Sherman, Texas Accident Holds Up Traffic

When a driver notices that they are possibly about to be involved in an accident, they may make an attempt to avoid a collision. In many cases, however, trying to avoid a car wreck could end up causing one. Drivers may swerve out of the path of one car only to end up in the path of another. When this occurs, multiple vehicles could end up being involved and multiple injuries could be sustained.

An accident involving three vehicles occurred on a Texas highway when a vehicle had slowed for traffic up ahead. The driver of an SUV behind the slowing vehicle swerved into another lane possibly in order to avoid a collision with the slowing vehicle but collided with a pickup truck. After that initial collision, another vehicle crashed into the SUV and truck. It was reported that a person in one of the vehicles was trapped inside until emergency personnel were able to arrive on the scene.

Reports state that five people were involved in the crash, three of which were injured. The severity of their injuries is not clear at this time, though they were described as non-life threatening. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, and it was not reported whether any charges were filed as of yet in relation to the accident.

Whether an accident would have been as severe had the SUV driver not changed lanes is unknown. As of now the people involved and injured cannot think of what could have happened but simply deal with what did occur. Though the injuries sustained did not appear to be life-threatening, that does not mean they are not serious. Injured parties could face significant medical bills and may wish to look into filing personal injury claims against the driver deemed at fault for the accident in order to seek compensation for damages permissible under Texas law.

Texas Woman is Hit-and-Run Suspect

Parents often want to protect their children from harm no matter what the cost. They try to instill safety rules in children while they are young and to teach them that certain areas, such as roadways, can be dangerous. Parents want children to look both ways before crossing the street, and parents often accompany children when they do cross the street. Unfortunately, even with these precautions, an accident can happen leaving a child injured.

A Texas father was walking across a street with his young daughter when he noticed a speeding car heading in their direction. Presumably wanting to protect his daughter, the father moved in front of her just before the car collided with them. The collision caused the father to be knocked into the young girl, and she suffered a broken leg. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene. It was not reported what, if any, injuries the father sustained as a result of the hit-and-run.

Police are continuing to investigate and have a suspect for whom they are on the lookout. The suspect is a 23-year-old woman driving a gray colored vehicle. Authorities are encouraging anyone who may have information on the suspect to call and report their information.

The woman’s vehicle crashed into the other driver’s vehicle; she was reportedly declared dead at the scene of the accident.
