Crockett, Texas 18-Wheeler Wreck Takes Life

A tractor-trailer accident can be terrifying and can quickly change the lives of those people involved. Such is the case for nine people after a four-vehicle tractor trailer accident in Texas. One man is dead and eight others were injured in the crash. All eight of the surviving victims were transported to hospitals, including one 3-year-old child who was flown to a children’s hospital.

The accident was said to have occurred after three passenger vehicles stopped at a construction zone. At that point a tractor trailer truck transporting lumber reportedly ran over the other vehicles. No specific reason for the tragedy was given. Supposedly the lumber truck didn’t brake before the collision took place, although investigators are still looking into the reasons behind that allegation.

The victims apparently included a woman traveling with her three daughters. A construction flagger from Pinton construction was also injured in the tractor trailer accident, according to authorities. At least one of the victims suffered a head injury, although he is reportedly now talking and lucid.

In the wake of this serious tractor trailer accident, both the family of the slain man and the survivors may find themselves struggling to cope with the circumstances which befell them. The surviving family is left to arrange a funeral and confront other unexpected expenses as they try to make sense of things and search for answers. The survivors may now face significant medical bills in relation to their injuries. Texas law does offer them the opportunity to pursue civil action to recover monetary damages, based on evidence of negligence by others, if they decide that is appropriate in their situation.

Houston Mother of Three Injured by DWI Suspect

A Texas mother of three nearly lost her life when an alleged drunk driver ran her car up on a curb and struck the woman. The woman’s husband said they and their children were waiting to cross the street at a Corpus Christi intersection when a Ford Mustang plowed into the woman. He says his wife’s motherly instincts allowed her to push their little girl out of the way, saving the daughter from injury. Unfortunately, this Texas pedestrian accident has now left the woman with serious injuries.

Those injuries will reportedly require at least three surgeries, not to mention extensive physical therapy for the mother to recover. Her husband said that his wife is suffering a lot of pain and will have a difficult road to recovery. The accident happened on July 4, when the reportedly drunk woman ran off the road, struck the woman and then kept driving.

When it was obvious that the driver wasn’t going to stop, the husband and another man purportedly began to chase her down. Authorities report that the allegedly drunk driver was stopped by those two men when they caught up to her on and called police. Officials arrested the driver and charged her with intoxicated assault with a motor vehicle under Texas law.

This pedestrian accident has not only left the family shaken, but with extensive medical bills as well. Reportedly a benefit account has been established to help with those costs, but it’s very possible that donations will not make a significant dent in rapidly mounting bills. As the mother struggles to recover from her severe injuries, the family may assess her rights to file a personal injury claim under state law, seeking to hold negligent any party whose negligence was deemed to have caused the treacherous car accident.

Longview Highway Motorcycle Crash Kills Texas Man

A fatal motorcycle crash claimed the life of a veteran law enforcement officer and police trainer on Wednesday, June 27. The police instructor was traveling on Texas 31 when the fatal motorcycle crash occurred. An SUV in the right lane allegedly attempted to make a U-turn and slammed into his motorcycle. Despite the fact that he was rushed to a nearby hospital after the accident occurred, emergency workers could not save his life.

The East Texas law enforcement community held a high amount of regard for the slain police trainer, according to an assistant police chief who was a friend. He praised the motorcyclist’s depth of knowledge and experience. According to him, the police trainer will not be easy to replace at the East Texas Police Academy where he trained future law enforcement officials.

A fire marshal who trained under the slain police trainer echoed his belief that the law enforcement community had suffered a great loss with the man’s death in the fatal motorcycle crash. He greatly admired the police trainer’s knowledge, amount of education and caring nature. Undoubtedly the slain man’s family and friends will be feeling an even deeper sense of loss.

Sometimes, people try to blame the motorcyclist in a fatal motorcycle crash, but preliminary evidence seems to suggest that the police trainer was simply traveling in his lane when the SUV allegedly turned in front of him. Officials also revealed that the slain man was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident. There was no preliminary indication that traffic citations and/or criminal charges were issued to the SUV driver, who was uninjured in the collision, and neither was a passenger. It remains to be seen if the victim’s family will turn to Texas civil courts to pursue a wrongful death claim for damages occasioned by the tragedy.

McAllen, Texas Teens Surrender in Racing Accident

A Texas father’s plea on behalf of his son’s friend who was reportedly killed in a hit and run accident has led to the surrender of five people allegedly involved in the fatal car crash. Authorities believe that those five people were possibly racing at the time of the hit and run accident. The incident occurred on a stretch of U.S. Expressway 83, where the father’s son and his son’s friend were attempting to change a tire on the side of the road.

Reportedly, the two young men attempted to jump out of the way of the oncoming vehicle but one became pinned against the car and died at the scene. After pinning the victim, the driver of a truck and the driver of a convertible, both allegedly involved in the hit and run accident, fled the scene. According to authorities, anonymous tips in the wake of the father’s plea for his son’s friend allowed them to track down those they believe are responsible for the man’s death, which led to the surrender.

Due to the drivers fleeing the scene, police also believe alcohol may have played a factor in the alleged race and subsequent hit and run accident. The parties believed to be involved include four adults and one juvenile. The police chief in McAllen, Texas, said he is grateful to both the media and the public for spreading the word and helping find those allegedly responsible for this fatal hit and run accident.

Accidents such as this one occur far too often and may lead to innocent people suffering severe personal injury and in many cases untimely death. Unfortunately for the friends and family of the Texas man killed in this hit and run accident, they must now face life without him. Hallettsville, Texas 18-Wheeler Accident Caused by Rain

A car accident on a Texas highway has resulted in four deaths. The accident occurred in mid June on a rain slicked road. According to Texas police officials, the car accident occurred when the driver of an SUV, a 39-year-old man, lost control of his vehicle and was hit by an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler then hit another SUV.

According to the police, the four that died were the 39-year-old man who was driving the SUV, a 42-year-old woman and 2 boys, ages 9 and 10. The driver of the other SUV sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck was able to escape the accident without suffering injury at all.

At the time of the news release, the relationship between the victims was unreported. Police have not released any further information as to whether or not there were other factors that may have led to this accident. As a result, it is as of yet unclear which individuals were at fault in the crash.

Rain slicked Texas highways pose an added danger to those traveling on them. Unfortunately, this risk is not always appreciated, especially when people are driving vehicles wherein they feel as though they have superior traction control. Unfortunately however, this failure to observe potential risks can result in high rates of speed, as if drivers were traveling on a dry road. As a result, a fatal car accident — just like this one — can rob people of life, people who ultimately would have had a lot of life left to live.

Texas Semi-Truck Hauling Oil Overturns, Closes FM 624

An 18 wheeler lost control while driving along a Texas highway on June 12, sending its two occupants to the hospital. According to a witness, the truck accident occurred when the truck went off the road and then tried to over correct. This caused the truck to flip on its side and leak petroleum onto Texas FM 624 in Jim Wells County.

The witness, along with an individual who lived nearby, rushed to the truck to try and help the victims. They were able to remove the passenger, a man who was shortly thereafter transported to a hospital in Alice. The two Good Samaritans, though, were unable to extract the driver, who had to wait over an hour for rescue officials to remove him from the truck.

Both men have remained in the hospital where the passenger is listed in good condition and the driver is listed in fair condition. Police have indicated, preliminarily, their belief that fatigue played a role in the accident. At this time they have not concluded whether traffic citations will be issued to the driver of the truck.

Driver fatigue is becoming more of an issue on Texas highways as drivers are given incentive to drive long hours each day to reach their destination on or ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, these circumstances can lead to dangerous conditions that in many cases yield drastic consequences to the driver of the truck and others sharing the road. As was the case in this truck accident, a momentary lapse in attentiveness is all that it takes to transform a truck into a deadly wrecking ball, that while luckily yielding no causalities in this particular occurrence, resulted in the injury and hospitalization of a passenger. Whether he may wish to seek reimbursement from the driver and/or the trucking company will likely depend on the facts revealed in the official accident report and the assessment of his rights under Texas law.

As a result of the accident, five other individuals were injured, including three children. However, these five individuals were able to avoid serious injuries according to police officials. Meanwhile, the deputy, who is 24 years old and was promoted to deputy sheriff after his completion of the East Texas Police Academy, suffered broken bones and other serious injuries. There are a lot of factors that can lead to a three vehicle accident. Without further details, one can only speculate as to who is to blame for this tragic car accident. The accounts of the witnesses and the Texas deputy sheriff could prove vital in understanding the cause of this unfortunate accident, as well as a reconstruction of the collision and an examination of such physical evidence as skid marks and vehicles inspections.

Corpus Christi Man Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver

A Texas man was killed during the early morning hours of May 29 when he was struck by a vehicle as he walked down the road with his brother. One of the brothers had experienced car difficulties alongside Interstate 37 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The man then called his brother who arrived on a bicycle to render aid. Both men then decided to walk down the Interstate, pushing the bicycle, when a vehicle struck one of the men, killing him on impact. The vehicle then fled the scene, transforming the tragic incident into a hit and run accident.

When police arrived, the other man was able to provide valuable information on the vehicle. Police have stated that they are treating this case as a homicide, as the vehicle failed to render aid after it struck the man. No further details have been released at this point regarding the identity of the car, and the police continue their search for the vehicle.

A Texas Personal Injury Lawyer can Help Win Financial Compensation from Hit-and-Run Injuries

Hit and run accidents in Texas have become all too frequent along public highways. In many cases, this is the result of the operator of the vehicle attempting to avoid responsibility for another criminal act such as driving under the influence or having an active warrant out for their arrest. In other cases, the driver may have simply panicked. However, regardless of the reason for fleeing the scene, as is the case in this tragic hit and run accident, Texas police officers take these matters very seriously. This stance should serve as an adequate deterrence for many operators of motor vehicles who consider driving off after committing what appears, in the very least, to be a negligent act.

Galveston County, TX Court to See Car Accident Suit

A car accident that occurred two years ago resulted in a lawsuit filed last week in Galveston County Court. A League City, Texas, man is suing a driver for an accident that occurred in Amarillo resulting in severe injuries.

The plaintiff in this case was a passenger in a vehicle hit by the defendant’s sports utility vehicle. The car accident occurred while the plaintiff was being driven by a co-worker to the Rick Husband Airport in Amarillo.

According to the petition, the driver of the SUV “swerved violently to the left, crossing over multiple access lanes that had separated the paths of his vehicle and the vehicle in which the plaintiff was traveling and plowed directly, violently and forcefully into the passenger side of the vehicle in which the plaintiff was traveling.”

The plaintiff immediately sought medical attention before flying home to Houston where he then had to be hospitalized. The suit does not refer to the condition of the driver of the car.

The suit claims the defendant was careless, distracted and did not observe traffic conditions, causing him to lose control of the SUV and crash.

The plaintiff is seeking at least $100,000 in damages and requested a jury trial. Victims of car accidents often seek restitution for medical bills, loss of income, and pain and suffering. The length of time needed to resolve a case like this depends on several factors including the degree of injury and whether or not medical treatment is ongoing, and the back log of the court system.

El Paso Pedestrian Accident Leaves 2 Dead

Two children were killed and two more injured when a car veered off the road and struck them as they walked next to the road on their way to meet friend. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred along a Texas highway in the northeast section of El Paso. Police officials stated that on this occasion the four children, who they believe are all related, were walking along the road when a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man from Horizon City veered into the emergency lane and struck them from behind, immediately killing two of the children. The other two were rushed to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries and their condition is currently unknown.

Police investigating the scene indicated that neither speed nor alcohol was initially considered to be a factor in this crash. It is currently unknown if police will file charges against the driver, who stopped and called for help after he struck the children. It is anticipated that further information will be released as the investigation continues, which police stated was in its early stages.

Although many of the questions have yet to be answered by Texas authorities regarding this unfortunate fatal pedestrian accident, the investigation will likely take into consideration traffic conditions, the location where the bodies and victims were found, witness statements (including the driver’s and victims) as well as a review of other physical evidence. It remains to be seen what the result of the inquiry into this fatal pedestrian accident will be. It can only be hoped that the victims who survived recover fully and quickly and that the families involved find the capacity to cope with the nearly incomprehensible grief they must be experiencing.
