Texas Chase Ends in Fiery Car Crash on I-35

Police officers often make serious decisions on the spur of the moment during the line of duty, especially when the safety of others becomes a concern.  A recent car accident took place in Texas when officers engaged in a high-speed vehicle chase. They decided to cease their pursuit when the car they were following allegedly began weaving in and out of traffic on the highway.

The incident began at approximately 10 p.m. on a recent Friday night, when police attempted to make a traffic stop. The motorist reportedly refused to stop, leading police into a chase at very high speeds. After deciding to radio headquarters with information on the car, rather than continue the pursuit, officers claim to have witnessed the vehicle crashing into the median on the road.

A 33-year-old male, behind the wheel of the car at the time, is said to have fled the scene on foot. Officers began a foot pursuit, stopping the man some 100 yards down the road. Two passengers traveling in his vehicle were injured and trapped inside the car. After two police officers, one of whom was off-duty, and two sons of the off-duty officer helped extricate the injured persons from the vehicle, they were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Car Accident Victims can File Legal Claims through an Attorney

The driver was arrested and has been held on a bond set at $12,500. Officers reported a controlled substance found at the scene, which they claim the man discarded while he was running away. When a Texas car accident results in personal injury to a passenger in a vehicle, he or she is able to file a legal claim in a civil court in order to seek compensation for damages. The monies awarded by the court in a successfully litigated case can be used to help pay medical bills or replace wages lost due to the accident.

Multi-Car Wreck Sends Girl to Hospital

In Texas, a recent incident involved several motorists. The car accident occurred on a Saturday night in Corpus Christi. It was approximately 9 p.m. when the crash took place.

Officers say that excessive speed might have been a leading factor in the accident. They have also stated that they do not believe this collision was alcohol-related in any way. Some of the drivers involved in the accident were cited for following other vehicles too closely and for failing to control their speed.

One car struck another from behind, which seems to have then caused a chain reaction collision. A 14-year-old girl who was a passenger in one of the vehicles was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries. It was reported that no one sustained life-threatening injuries of any sort in the incident.

Legal Help is Available to Families of Victims

When a Texas car accident is deemed to have been caused by a driver’s negligence, and a child of minor age suffers injuries in the crash, there is legal help available for the family of the child. His or her parents or legal guardian is protected by law with the right to file a personal injury claim on behalf of the injured child in a civil court. This would allow them to seek compensation for damages by pursuing legal action against the party or parties believed responsible. In a successfully litigated case, the court can award monetary compensation that may help to pay medical bills, debt associated with any ongoing physical therapy required for recovery or other costs related to an accident.

Pedestrian Killed in South TX Hit & Run

A tragedy occurred near an intersection in Texas on a recent Saturday evening. The hit and run accident resulted in the loss of one life. Authorities say that the vehicle said to have been involved in the incident was a pickup truck.

In the aftermath of the recent accident, a police sergeant stated that a young woman, age 19, had been walking on the road. The pickup truck, whose operator has not yet been identified, allegedly struck the woman. The vehicle reportedly continued to travel, leaving the scene of the accident.

Sadly, the woman who was hit by the truck succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the site. Though the driver and the truck have not yet been located, officials say they know that the truck was missing a front grill. The public was alerted that the pickup sustained front end damage in the crash on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Pedestrians have Legal Rights

In a similar hit and run accident, once a driver deemed responsible in an accident is located, the immediate family members of a deceased victim are able to pursue legal action against him or her on behalf of their loved one. In Texas and all other states, immediate family members acting on behalf of a decedent may seek compensation for damages that typically include emotional pain and suffering, funeral costs and loss of future potential earnings and related monetary losses. A first logical step to take if considering filing such a claim would be to contact a legal professional in the area who has experience in handling hit and run accident cases.

Wrong-Way Driver Crashes into Van

When Texas motorists are navigating the busy roadways of the state, things don’t always go as planned. In an instant, a highway that was seemingly safe just moments earlier can turn into a scene of immense tragedy. Such was the case in a recent fatal car accident that took the life of one person and left two others injured.

It was approximately 6 p.m. on a recent Saturday when the tragic crash occurred. A woman said to be in her 30s was reportedly behind the wheel of a sports utility vehicle when the collision took place. For some unknown reason, her vehicle veered into oncoming traffic. Her vehicle crashed, head-on, into a van that was traveling in the opposite direction.

The woman suspected of causing the accident did not survive her injuries. A man and his 8-year-old son, who were traveling in the van, were both injured and transported by medical flight to an area hospital for emergency care. An officer who responded to the scene noted that accidents can happen very quickly and the results can be devastating.

Accident Victims have Legal Means of Financial Compensation

In Texas, when a person deemed to have caused a fatal car accident succumbs to his or her injuries, other accident victims are entitled to file legal claims against his or her estate. When an injured victim is a child of minor age, a parent typically acts on behalf of his or her child in pursuing claims for financial damages in civil court. Compensation may be sought for damages that include medical bills, loss of wages (including work time missed by parents while caring for an injured child), emotional pain and suffering and other monetary losses associated with an accident.

Family of Four Killed in Car Wreck

A horrific tragedy involving three vehicles occurred on a Texas roadway on a recent Sunday. One of the motorists involved is now said to be facing criminal charges in the incident. An entire community has gathered together to offer a vigil in memory of a family that was killed in the fatal car accident.

It was approximately 1 p.m. when the tragic collision took place. The details of the investigation, thus far, suggest that the driver of a westbound vehicle struck the rear end of another car that carried a family of four. Their vehicle was sent spinning into the eastbound lanes upon impact. The car was then struck a second time by a vehicle in the eastbound lane that reportedly attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to do so.

Sadly, the 49-year-old father, 42-year-old mother and two children, ages six and four, were all killed in the accident. The 16-year-old driver of the eastbound vehicle and a 15-year-old passenger in the same car were treated for their injuries and later released from an area hospital. The 68-year-old man who is believed to have caused the accident now faces four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.

Financial Compensation is Available Through Legal Means

In Texas and elsewhere, those who have suffered the untimely death of a loved one in a fatal car accident are able to file a legal claim in a civil court. Doing so allows them to seek compensation for damages on behalf of their deceased family member. In a successfully litigated case, court-awarded compensation can be used to help alleviate funeral costs or be used to pay for any other documented losses associated with the accident.

Bus Driver Lost Control After Avoiding Car

Parents who send their children to school by way of school buses in Texas have the right to reasonably assume that the bus drivers will operate their vehicles according to the highest levels of professionalism and safety standards. Still, there are times when school buses are involved in motor vehicle accidents. In a recent case, a tragedy occurred when a bus accident resulted in the loss of more than one life and injuries to several others.

The Texas school bus was traveling with students on board when it was allegedly hit by a car. The impact of the collision reportedly caused the bus driver to lose control and fall from an overpass. The driver of the car that hit the bus apparently had swerved in order to prevent another collision during the rush of morning traffic.

The school superintendent expressed the community’s deep grief in the aftermath of the tragedy that resulted in the deaths of two students and injuries to several others, including the drivers of both vehicles. Killed in the accident were two girls, one 17, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene, and the other, a 14-year-old who died later after being taken to the hospital. Two of the injured victims were 17-year-old siblings, according to additional information provided.

Parents of Children Harmed in Bus Accidents have Legal Rights

Typically, parents of children who have died in a bus accident are protected under Texas law with the right to file legal claims on behalf of their deceased loved ones. Pursuing litigation against any and all parties believed responsible is by no means meant to serve as a replacement for the loss of human life. However, it might comfort grieving families to know that compensation awarded in a successfully litigated case can be used to help pay funeral expenses and cover other monetary losses associated with an accident, such as medical treatment that might have been rendered before a child succumbed to his or her injuries.

Football Player Remembered at Recent Game

A Texas high school community joined together in silent prayer at a recent football game in honor and memory of a student and his mother. Both were killed in an automobile accident. The car accident has left the entire community in mourning. The woman and her son had just relocated to Texas from another state.

The 15-year-old victim was a member of the school football team. He is remembered by faculty as a respectful and kind young man. A local football coach was leaving the school parking lot after practice when he reportedly drove by the accident scene and recognized another player in the crashed vehicle. He and other men stopped to render aid and said that the 15-year-old was still breathing for a time before he succumbed to his injuries.

A 17-year-old motorist who is alleged to have run a red light and caused the crash was taken to a hospital in critical condition. In addition to the death of the athlete’s mother, there were four others transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Another coach lamented that this type of tragedy serves as a reminder to others to realize that each day could be their last.

Financial Compensation is Available for Car Wreck Victims

When a motorist causes a car accident through negligence, any person seriously injured is able to file a legal claim in a civil court. In Texas, and beyond, if an accident victim succumbs to his or her injuries, an immediate family member may act on his or her behalf in court. Compensatory awards are never able to replace the loss of human life. However, it might comfort those grieving to know that such monies could be used to help offset funeral costs or other monetary losses related to an accident.

Driver Airlifted to Hospital After Multi-Car Accident

It is the right of all Texas motorists to reasonably expect that other drivers sharing the road will remain alert and cautious behind the wheels of their vehicles. When a motorist becomes distracted or is otherwise negligent, it can lead to a car accident that might result in personal injury to one or more persons. In a recent case, three cars were involved in a collision at a traffic light.

Police responded to the accident that occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on a recent Monday in Houston. It appears that several vehicles were stopped at a red light when the crash occurred. Apparently, an approaching vehicle’s driver failed to notice that the other cars were not moving and rammed into the rear of the vehicle in front of hers.

Upon impact, that vehicle that was struck then crashed into the one in front of it at the traffic light. Reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle that allegedly caused the accident never applied her breaks before crashing into the other car. The driver of the car that was struck suffered injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle that seems to have caused the chain-reaction accident was airlifted to a hospital for emergency care.

Negligent Drivers can be held Financially Accountable

When a victim of a Texas car accident suffers injuries caused by another motorist’s negligence, he or she is able to seek compensation for damages by filing a legal claim in a civil court. In a successfully litigated case, any monies provided through a compensatory award can be used to absorb some of the medical bills and other economic losses incurred due to the accident. The first logical step to take when considering filing a claim would be to contact a legal professional in the area who has experience in motor vehicle accident cases.

17 Year Old High School Student Killed in Manvel Car Wreck

A tragedy occurring on a Texas roadway has left a community grieving the loss of one of its young citizens. The car accident took place on a recent Tuesday evening and involved two vehicles. Several others suffered injuries in the incident.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., a northbound vehicle became disabled and was stopped in the traffic lane. Another vehicle, approaching from behind, reportedly crashed into the stopped vehicle on the road. A 17-year-old boy who was a passenger in the backseat of the stopped vehicle became entrapped in the tangled wreckage upon impact.

Sadly, the young man died at the scene of the accident. Five other teenagers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. Three of them are reported in stable condition. The conditions of the other two have been listed as serious.

Car Accident Victim’s Family Members can Pursue Litigation

The driver of the vehicle that struck the car is said to have suffered only minor injuries. Police have stated that the man was tested for intoxication and passed the test. When a Texas car accident results in a fatality due to the fault of another, the deceased victim’s immediate family members may choose to pursue litigation in court on behalf of their loved one. Additionally, any injured persons who survive an accident are also able to seek compensation for damages. To begin the process of filing a claim, it is typically prudent to contact a legal professional in the area who has experience in personal injury and wrongful death cases.
